A 62-year-old man has died following a crash on the A69, near Haydon Bridge, earlier today (May 10).
A second man, aged 68, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, Northumbria Police has confirmed.
The fatal collision on the eastbound carriageway involved a black Land Rover and a blue Mazda between the B6318 at Greenhead and the A6079 at Acomb.
A spokesperson from Northumbria Police said: "His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by officers.
"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the road traffic collision are ongoing and we're asking for witnesses and those with dashcam to come forward," they said.
