A HEXHAM man has been made subject to alcohol abstinence monitoring.
Darren Brooks, of Priestlands Drive, was at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on June 1.
At an earlier hearing, the 32-year-old admitted a charge of assault by beating and one of criminal damage.
Magistrates sentenced Brooks to a rehabilitation order lasting 20 days with alcohol monitoring.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114.
Brooks must pay £100 compensation for damage to an Ipad worth £300.
