A new exhibition in Northumberland will showcase the wonders of the universe through the lens of Wil Cheung, founder of Twice Brewed Stargazing.

The exhibition, titled Infinite Skies, will open at the Queen's Hall Arts Centre in Hexham on July 29.

Visitors will have the opportunity to lose themselves in the night sky through stunning photographs of various celestial phenomena such as the aurora borealis, the Milky Way, meteors, the moon, Andromeda Galaxy, shooting stars, and comets.

Wil's astro-photography has gained a significant following on social media, with tens of thousands of views.

His work has been published in over 50 newspapers and websites worldwide and has been featured on the BBC and ITV.

He said: “I’m extremely excited to have my work featured at the Queens Hall and have really enjoyed selecting the photographs for my first solo exhibition.”

Inspiration struck Wil to pursue photography eight years ago when he experienced a strong aurora storm in Iceland, where he can be found exploring the skies - when he's not leading his star-gazing sessions at The Twice Brewed on Hadrian's Wall.

Wil aims to share the beauty of the night sky through his photography.

He said: “I started photography with the aim of showing people the beauty of the night sky and having an exhibition will hopefully inspire others to look up and enjoy the beauty of the universe.”

For those inspired to try astrophotography themselves, Wil also runs regular workshops at The Twice Brewed alongside their popular stargazing program.

Katy Taylor, the Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Queen's Hall, expressed her excitement about showcasing Wil's work.

She said: “We’re delighted to be showcasing Wil’s work at Queen’s Hall this summer.

“Wil has a huge following online and it’s great to be able to offer him a physical space for his first large-scale professional exhibition - which we know visitors from Hexham and beyond will be in awe of!”

Infinite Skies will be open at the Queen's Hall Arts Centre in Hexham from July 29 to September 16.
