A bespoke metal creation specialist in the North East has designed and sculpted a copper bar top for the refurbishment of the Duchy of Cornwall’s Nursery restaurant and bar.
The piece from Halman Thompson was unveiled last week by Prince William, the Duke of Cornwall, who cut the ribbon at the ceremony with the assistance of nine-year-old twins on holiday from Scotland.
The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery is not only known for its horticulture but also offers a glasshouse, a shop, and various dining options, including a cafe and an orangery.
It opened to the public in 1974 and has since become one of the largest and most respected nurseries in the South West.
The new restaurant features a handcrafted bar with a Cheshire-finished copper top, as well as Cheshire-aged copper plinths running along the bar.
Sara Halman, Managing Director of Halman Thompson, said: "We are delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project.
"Building a reputation for quality and creativity has meant we have been given the opportunity to work with the likes of the Duchy of Cornwall’s Nursery.
"We are proud of everything we handcraft and we can’t wait for everyone to see it."
