A NEW gym has opened in Tynedale.
Matty Ferguson opened his new gym 'Ferguson Fitness HQ' at Unit F, Bridge End Industrial Estate, in Hexham, on Saturday, July 22.
The 21-year-old, originally from Hexham but who now lives in Acomb, has always worked hard to make sure he secured his dream of running his own business.
"I started off playing rugby and from there I’ve always loved sports and training in the gym," Matty said.
"Since qualifying as a personal trainer, my dream and goal has been to always open a gym."
Matty didn't waste any time in getting his gym up and running.
He said: "We got the keys on the 26th of June and in 27 days we have turned the unit into a fully functional gym
"And now it is here, I can’t wait to provide the best training facility possible for the people in the local area to use and enjoy."
Throughout the years of trying to achieve his dream, Matty has not let the grass grow underneath his feet as he constantly tried to improve himself and gain more qualifications.
He added: "Over the last few years I have operated as a self-employed personal trainer running bootcamps, classes in gyms, and 1-1 and group personal training.
"I have also added to my own achievements. I am now a Level 3 personal trainer; I have a Level 2 CrossFit qualification and a Level 2 British weightlifting qualification.
"We've had the official opening day and now I can show everyone the hard work that has been put in!"
