The golf season teed off at luxury country hotel Matfen Hall, with the lavish locale playing host to its popular Pro Am golf competition.
The tournament in Northumberland brought together both professionals and amateurs, allowing them to face off on the establishment's picturesque championship course.
Nathan White, General Manager of Matfen Hall, says: “Our championship golf course was the perfect destination for an exciting Pro Am golf competition.
"We were delighted to welcome professional and amateur golfers to Matfen Hall. Our facilities allowed for everyone to enjoy the finest golf and hospitality Northumberland has to offer, we can’t wait for next year.”
The competition started off with a round of refreshments, complimentary range balls, and a 9 hole Par 3 contest.
The main event of the day was an 18-hole competition, followed by a BBQ.
The triumphant amateur team, Intelligent Gas and Power, left the green with a £100 voucher and a luxury overnight stay at Matfen Hall, which included dinner and breakfast.
For the winning pro, the purse was even richer - £2,000, in addition to a similar overnight stay.
Additional competitions were held alongside the Pro Am, with winners of the longest drive and nearest the pin contests securing a Stealth 2 Driver and a TaylorMade wedge respectively.
This week, Matfen Hall also hosted the PGA Super 60s Championship, allowing further opportunities for professionals and amateurs to duel amongst the beauty of the Northumberland countryside.
