THE MET Office has issued a warning of rain, heavy and persistent at times, bringing the risk of disruption to transport and infrastructure to Tynedale.
The yellow alert predicts that until 9pm tonight, 20-40 mm of rain is expected to fall around Tynedale with a chance of 60-80 mm falling in a few places in the next 3-6 hours.
Residents have been asked expect that there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
Other issues also include a small chance that some communities will be temporarily cut off by flooded roads,spray and flooding is likely to lead to some difficult driving conditions and road closures and a chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.
Additionally, there is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.
