WE asked our readers if they thought blazers should be scrapped as part of children's school uniform. Here's what they said.
Neil M Robinson said: "Couldn't think of anything worse than a shirt, jumper and blazer. Totally over the top and not representative of a working environment."
Tina Gair said: "A better idea would be to just sell the badges to stitch on like years ago, and parents buy any shop-bought blazer instead of schools having the monopoly of only buying through their own schools."
She also said: "It's all a money-making scheme for the schools. Totally unfair if you have more than one or two children to kit out. Even one or two is bad enough price-wise."
Cindy Ann Morrow said: "We used to buy badges and would sew them on."
June Reed said: "They do look smart but maybe an unnecessary expense when most jumpers usually have the school logo on anyway."
Emily Burlton said: "You never had blazers when I went to Queen Elizabeth High School. The teachers thought the school was sponsored by Adidas because everyone wore Adidas pants. But yes, I think school uniforms are expensive they should just make it so that people have to wear certain colours."
