THE HEAD of a Tynedale school is 'delighted' with his pupil's GCSE results this year.
Students at Queen Elizabeth High School showed that nothing could stop them after achieving amazing results despite the challenging times of Covid-19.
The school presented over 300 students for a wide range of qualifications and many achieved the results required to continue to sixth form.
Others have successfully gained entry to colleges and apprenticeships due to their results.
75% of students at the high school secured a 9-4 in English and mathematics with nearly 60% gaining grades 9-5 in both.
I was found that students at QEHS continue to excel in a range of qualifications, with many doing well in science and languages but also exceptional grades in art, music, sport and health.
Neil Seaton, Head of School, said: “It was joyful to see many of our students in school this morning to collect their results and share in their excitement. The results achieved are a credit to the students, their families and all the staff. We are looking forward to welcoming the vast majority back to sixth form and send the rest of our alumni into further education or employment with best wishes”.
