TYNEDALE RESIDENTS have been welcomed into a manufacturer's apprenticeship programme.
International wood-based material manufacturer, EGGER UK, has recruited 17 local apprentices to join its site in Hexham.
The new cohort joined departments of Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Business Administration, Sales, Purchasing, Health and Safety, and Logistics.
EGGER has also welcomed recruits at their other sites such as Barony and Timberpak sites.
To mark the start of the 2023 apprenticeship programme, EGGER UK hosted an induction week packed with activities, tours, and talks.
During the week, new recruits visited each site and saw the production of chipboard at EGGER Barony, took part in an activity day at Loch Doon, Ayr, had a tour of EGGER Hexham to see the production of Eurodekor Faced Chipboard, visited a Timberpak recycling site, and spent an afternoon with EGGER Forestry.
Keith Robson, Apprentice Training Manager, EGGER UK, added, “We are delighted to welcome our new apprentices to the team. The induction week provides an exceptional opportunity for our apprentices to build connections with one another and develop a support network, as they embark on their professional journey with us.”
Chris Hawkins, Learning & Development Senior Specialist, EGGER UK, said, ““At EGGER we embrace our apprenticeship motto ‘More Stability, More Future, My Prospects’. During the induction week we explored personal growth and development opportunities that EGGER offers, to enable them to flourish and shape their own futures at EGGER.”
