Northumberland College students are celebrating their achievements after receiving their vocational qualification results this summer.
With an overall pass rate of 91.5 per cent for Level 3 qualifications, the college has seen many students accept offers from top universities, secure higher level apprenticeships, or embark on new careers.
Courses that achieved a 100 per cent pass rate include Animal Management, Equine Management, and Floristry.
The first year of T Level in Health also saw a 100 per cent pass rate.
Amy Pickering, Equine Tutor said: “I am immensely proud of all the equine results this year and well done to all our students. "All students have worked so hard this year to achieve their great results, with a 100 per cent pass rate on Level 3 Equine including three students achieving a Distinction*."
Lee Lister, Vice Principal of Northumberland College said: “Outstanding results evidence hard work and dedication, from both staff and students. The results this year build on continued improvement year on year and showcase just how good the students of Northumberland are."
Outstanding individual achievements included Daniel Young, who received a Distinction and two Merits in Engineering.
Daniel hopes to secure employment at AkzoNobel and progress to a Mechanical Technician role.
Daniel said: “I felt relieved as I opened my results. Studying at the college has helped me achieve this by supplying me with the raw knowledge I needed to get a basic understanding of the mechanics, the systems and procedures in industry to help me proceed with my job.”
Cameron Bagley, another Engineering student, is also aiming for employment at AkzoNobel after earning three Merits.
Principal Gary Potts said: “Our students work extremely hard to achieve their qualifications, so this is always an anxious time for them but overall, we have seen some impressive results with many individual exceptional achievements across our vocational qualifications, which will equip them with the knowledge and skills to achieve their next goal of continuing into higher education or progressing into employment on a high-quality career path. "We are very proud of them.”
Northumberland College is currently accepting applications for its wide array of vocational and technical courses.
