Matfen Hall is drawing on tradition to add a touch of glamour and sparkle to afternoon tea.
The hotel, spa and golf estate in Northumberland says it now offers an exclusive service at The Orangery; their dedicated Tea Lounge.
Prepared by the talented pastry chef, Richard Winfield formerly of The Great British Bake Off, guests can revel in a range of handcrafted sandwiches, scones and pastries.
Tea is served daily from 12pm through 4pm, offering a selection of high-quality beverages, including Newby Tea, Café du Monde Coffee and Laurent Perrier Champagne.
Four distinct afternoon tea options are available, ranging from a Classic Afternoon Tea to an opulent 'Afternoon of Indulgence', including chauffeur service and a jeroboam of Laurent Perrier.
Sommelier Yelba Perez Saballos is introducing Saicho Sparkling Tea into the menu, providing an innovative, non-alcoholic complement for the Emerald restaurant wine pairings.
Saicho Sparkling tea makes an ideal gift, available in 200ml, 750ml bottles, or in special 3x200ml gift packs retailing at £20.
Matfen Hall’s Head Sommelier, Yelba Pérez-Saballos, said: "From September we will have the pleasure of offering the Saicho sparkling tea as part of the Afternoon Tea. We will also have a present box with a selection of three teas to give away in our Orangery tea room.
"The full range of sparkling teas will also be part of the tasting menu at our Emerald Restaurant as a Non-Alcoholic wine flight as well as in our bar 1832 ready to drink."
