HUNDREDS of Tynedale residents were among 60,000 determined and dedicated runners of the World's biggest and half marathon.
The sun shone on the 42nd AJ Great North Run 2023 as thousands appeared in Newcastle to take on the 13.1 mile route from Newcastle to South Shields.
The race was started by Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe with race founder Sir Brendan Foster and Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley, along with Sir Mo Farah with fellow runners.
Peres Jepchirchir won the elite womens race, with Sharon Lokedi second and Charlotte Purdue third.
Tamirat Tola finishes first in the elite mens race, with Bashir Abdi second and Muktar Edris third. Sir Mo Farah finishes his final race in fourth place.
Yet to us, the main stars were those from Tyndale such as; Erin and her dad Tom, Claire Rock Chris Harris Linda Robinson who raised money for Great North Air Ambulance.
Not forgetting Richie Stephenson who ran and raised over £400 for Make a Wish UK, Connor Millican the Tannery landlord who ran for charity Bravehearts of the North East.
