The Hexham area is primed to play host to a series of free Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) Drop-In sessions from youngsRPS, taking place throughout October.
Aimed at local farmers and landowners, these sessions will shed light on the many incentives available to support them.
Countryside estate and land consulting company, YoungsRPS, will hold the drop-ins on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to 4pm at their Hexham Mart office.
No prior booking is necessary to attend.
The SFI was introduced by the Government to reward farmers and landowners for adopting sustainable practices.
It serves as a key pillar of the Environmental Land Management Scheme (ELMS).
Key aspects of the drop-ins include exploring individual farm type and aspiration, detailed explanations of SFI's objectives, requirements and how it connects with other schemes.
Practical advice will be given on implementing sustainable practices ranging from crop rotation, soil health, wildlife conservation to agroforestry.
The drop-ins will equip attendees with necessary knowledge to utilise sustainable farming incentives, contributing to a more robust and environment-friendly agricultural sector.
