Retirement Living Developer, McCarthy Stone, is looking to redevelop Hexham land into retirement accommodation.
The firm is proposing the redesign of land at Station Road.
The planned accommodation will cater to older people's requirements, with the site currently designated for housing development by the Northumberland Council Local Plan.
The scheme proposes the development of 48 'sensitively designed' apartments.
The project also includes a residents' lounge situated in scenic, landscaped gardens and on-site parking.
There will also be a dedicated guest suite, elevator access to all floors, and a facility for charging and storing mobility scooters.
Public opinion on the proposed project will be sought at a community exhibition, scheduled for October 25 from 3pm to 7pm at The Torch Centre, Corbridge Road, Hexham.
Residents will have the opportunity to discuss the plans with project team members and raise any queries.
For those unable to attend, McCarthy Stone will host a virtual consultation from October 17 to October 27 at http://www.mccarthystoneconsultation.co.uk/hexham.
Ciaran Aldridge, Divisional Managing Director North, McCarthy Stone said: "Our plans provide a fantastic opportunity to deliver much-needed Retirement Living accommodation in Hexham.
"The site is ideally located with public transport links to local shops and amenities nearby, as well as connections across the region."
"Our proposals for Hexham will help to address a demand for retirement accommodation in the area, providing housing choice for older people, whilst freeing up the wider housing market for local families and first-time buyers further down the chain in an area with high demand for these types of homes."
"We are pleased to be hosting an online consultation to provide so many people with the opportunity to view our plans and find out more about the scheme.
"Our in-person event will also provide a great opportunity for residents to ask any questions they may have about the scheme."
For anyone who can't view the plans online, further information is available by calling McCarthy Stone's project team on their free information line at 0800 298 7040 or via email at feedback@mccarthystoneconsultation.co.uk.
