Percy Hedley Cadets bagged a national award at the annual Lord Ferrers event last week.
The team was honoured as Volunteer Police Cadet Team of the year at the esteemed ceremony.
Sworn into their roles in October last year, the exceptional group is part of Hedleys College of the Percy Hedley Foundation.
The foundation works with the police to provide an insight into the profession for pupils with complex learning difficulties and communication needs.
Over the past year, the cadets have gained knowledge on antisocial behaviour and mental health, and have represented their community at multiple events.
A second team of cadets is soon due to be sworn in, thanks to their efforts.
Detective Superintendent Claire Wheatley of Northumbria Police said: "We believe that anyone who wants to make a difference should be given the chance.
"It is an honour to work alongside our Percy Hedley cadets and give them a taste of policing life.
"The passion and positive attitude of the cadets have made the first year of the programme a triumph - huge well done to everyone involved.
"I am delighted that we have continued to build on last years' success and would also like to congratulate our North Tyneside Cadets who came runner up in the same category - that is a huge accomplishment in itself."
