Prostate cancer survivor Paul Nash is raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK with engaging and educational talks.
Diagnosed in 2010, Nash, who credits his good fortune to early detection, has since dedicated his life to supporting the charity.
Paul also organises an annual fundraising golf tournament in partnership with Alston Moor Golf Club, and is a member of the Prostate Cancer UK Patient Representative Networking, providing support for research teams.
He has been a co-collaborator on several national and international projects.
The Covid-19 pandemic impacted Paul's work as an education consultant, giving him time to think about other ways he could support the charity.
A former geography and geology teacher, he was inspired to use his love of the North East's history and landscape for the cause.
Paul has since developed four multi-media talks on the topics of plagues that altered history, Tynedale's landscape and history, the Anglo-Scottish border and The Great Whin Sill's impact on our lives and landscape.
Serving up a mixture of blood, gore and daring deeds against a backdrop of breath-taking North East imagery, these talks have proven popular.
Presentations to local groups across Tynedale have so far raised over £1,000 and earned repeat requests.
Bookings for Paul's schedule are already flooding in for the coming year.
