POLICE have renewed a missing persons appeal to help locate a man with Tynedale links.
Ian Malone, 53 has been missing for over six months and was last seen in the Low Fell area of Gateshead at around 8am on Friday, April 7.
Ian is described as a white male of medium build, around 5ft 11in tall, with a bald head. He is usually clean shaven, but sometimes has a goatee beard.
When he was last seen on April 7, he was wearing black jogger bottoms, with a dark jumper and black puffer jacket. He also often wears glasses.
It is believed that when he went missing, Ian might have been heading towards the Hadrian’s Wall and Pennine Way areas of Northumberland.
Following his disappearance, extensive searches have been carried out by Northumbria Police officers to locate him.
Today (Monday, October 23), officers have renewed calls for anyone with information which may help them to locate Ian to come forward and contact them.
Detective Inspector Ben McIntosh, of Northumbria Police, said: “Officers are in regular contact with Ian’s family.
“Despite an extensive investigation and search since April, we do not know his whereabouts.
“It is now six months since he was last seen and his family and friends are rightly very concerned about him.
“I’d urge anyone who may have information – no matter how insignificant they feel it may be – concerning Ian’s disappearance to contact us. Your input could prove vital in our search to locate him.”
