Hexham's next Climate Cafe event welcomes worldly walker Lya Vollering on October 28.
The Climate Cafe, a monthly event, is a warm and open retreat for those troubled by escalating climate issues and seeking positive action.
Over a tea or a coffee, attendees can converse about their environmental concerns and explore ways to address these at personal and community levels.
Hosted in Hexham's library, the cafe also boasts a collection of climate-focused literature for visitors to peruse.
This month, adventurers and green enthusiasts will be treated to a fascinating account by Lya Vollering.
Lya embarked on an extraordinary journey on foot from Canterbury to Rome.
Commencing her journey amidst the chill of April, she braved the Italian heatwave and traversed everything from monotonous monocrop landscapes to vibrant wildflower-laden fields.
Lya will offer insights into her journey, discussing the impact of changing landscapes and weather on her experience and the valuable lessons learned.
Responding and sharing personal narratives is encouraged in this engaging and supportive forum.
The Hexham Climate Cafe will take place from 11am-1pm.
The cafes take place on the fourth Saturday of every month.
