A North East law firm has scooped a prestigious award.

Emmersons Solicitors won the Probate Provider of the Year award at the British Wills and Probate Awards earlier this month.

The renowned legal event held annually at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester and hosted by broadcaster Jennie Bond was livestreamed to a sizeable audience.

Jacqueline Emmerson, founder of the firm, was on-site to collect the prize.

In her speech Jacqueline said: "I am thrilled that we were awarded Probate Provider of the Year for the North and Midlands.

"We work hard to ensure all of our Probate clients and their loved ones are treated with dignity, respect and professionalism, and it is a real honour for these qualities to be recognised.

"As an SME firm with our bases firmly in the North East, it was great for us to be up against large national firms, and our win really highlights the value of smaller, dedicated teams."

Tracey Hammond, Solicitor from the Private Client team, added: "It is a real pleasure for myself and the rest of the team to receive this award.

"We establish real connections with our clients and their families, sometimes working with them over a number of years, and it is fantastic to be recognised for this."
