Northumbrian Water is encouraging anxious customers to discuss finances during Talk Money Week and beyond.
Coinciding with a national push for greater financial transparency, the company is intensifying its ongoing efforts to assist customers who are worried about water bill payments.
Currently supporting 78,000 North East customers with discounted or fixed-rate bills, the firm offers numerous methods to those facing financial stresses.
Talk Money Week from today until Friday, organised by the Money & Pension Service, challenges Britons to be more frank about money matters, raising awareness around financial well-being.
Aimed at relieving the financial strain, Northumbrian Water offers potentially beneficial schemes, such as discounted tariffs, affordable payment plans or payment breaks.
Mark Wilkinson, Head of Income for Northumbrian Water said: "Talk Money Week is a great opportunity for us to reinforce the commitment we have to support our customers in managing their water bills.
"At this time of year, people’s attention usually starts turning to Christmas and we know that the run up to the festive period usually brings more financial pressures and worries.
"We want people to know that we have many ways we can help and we’re dedicated to providing practical solutions, tailored support and guidance to support them when things get difficult."
Northumbrian Water partners with StepChange to offer free debt advice.
The company advises financially struggling customers to contact them via social media, phone, or visit their website.
