Northumberland County Council Mental Health Social Worker, Hannah Dawson, has won a major accolade at the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2023.
Her exemplary devotion to the mental health sector earned her the prestigious recognition.
Hannah was appreciated for being 'a shining example' with unwavering determination and commitment in assisting the most vulnerable throughout her career.
Hannah said “Mental health is a difficult profession to work in. We all work really hard, over and above what people expect, and we do an amazing job in tough times.”
The Social Worker of the Year Awards 2023 were held on Friday, November 3, in London.
Hannah was handed a gold award for the Mental Health Social Worker of the Year.
Peter Hay CBE, Chair of Trustees for the Social Worker of the Year Awards, said “This year we received the most entries ever, over 500, which goes to show organisations and individuals are keen to shine a light on the inspirational achievements of an often-overlooked profession."
