A NEW convenience store has opened in Tynedale.
Claire’s Convenience, run by Ram Rasu, was opened today (Friday, November 17) by Councillor Alan Sharp, who gave an impassioned speech about the importance of community and cut the ceremonial ribbon.
The new store on 9-11 Church Street, Haydon Bridge will sell fresh locally produced cakes and pies, a variety of frozen and hot drinks machines, and a wide range of American candies and sodas.
Other services include Paypoint & Lotto – pay bills, top-up, and be “in it to win it” and Evri Parcel Drop Off.
Ram said: “Ever since taking over this shop, I have been very impressed with the friendliness and kindness of the local people and I am now looking forward to paying that back by offering so many great services in this brand new store.
"We are now offering thick fresh milkshakes, Jolly Rancher slushes, and fresh coffee, as well as a large selection of fresh and locally produced bread, cakes, savouries, and sandwiches.
"With these and our big selection of American candy and soda, I am confident there is not a shop for miles around that can beat us on the range or price of these type of products.
"And that isn’t even mentioning our large offering of healthy foods including fresh meat, fruit and vegetables.
"We are extremely proud to be part of the Haydon Bridge community and would like to thank everyone for their support and kindness.”
