A new Deputy Chief Fire Officer has been appointed for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service.
Jim McNeil has been announced as the new Deputy Chief Fire Officer.
Chief Fire Officer Graeme Binning said: "I am delighted that Jim has been successful in securing the role of Deputy Chief Fire Officer.
"His professionalism, passion, and energy which he demonstrates every day make him a key asset to our service."
In his new role, Mr McNeil brings a wealth of experience from his 25 years at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and two and a half years as the Assistant Chief Fire Officer in Northumberland.
Councillor Gordon Stewart, Fire Authority Chair, said: "I am delighted that Jim has been appointed the next DCFO of Northumberland – he is an excellent appointment for us."
Expressing his gratitude, the Mr McNeil said: “I am truly honoured with my appointment to the DCFO role. I relish the opportunity to work closely with my Chief Fire Officer and all our wonderful staff to deliver our vision of making Northumberland safer."
Jim also credited his family for his success, citing their unwavering support and love as his driving force.
