Northern Powergrid is creating over 1,000 new jobs and launching graduate programmes to build a future-focused workforce.
The network operator serves eight million people across the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.
It's part of a wider investment strategy of more than £2.8bn supporting the creation of a greener energy system between 2023-28.
The 27-month graduate and technical trainee programmes are officially titled electrical power network engineer apprenticeships.
Victoria Short, Northern Powergrid's head of resourcing, said: "It’s an exciting time to join the energy industry with net zero and decarbonisation driving some of the most significant changes for energy networks in decades."
“We want to hear from people who want to kickstart their career in the New Year and be part of our commitment to improve the region’s power network and create a greener energy system.
"Our graduates and technical trainees will learn the necessary skills to help us create the energy system of the future.
"They will get an insight into all aspects of our business, and be coached and mentored by experienced colleagues."
Once the programmes finished, opportunities will be available in operational and non-operational teams.
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply via the Northern Powergrid website before January 31, 2024.
