A local foodbank is set to benefit from a Christmas competition.
West Northumberland Foodbank will receive donations after being chosen by Orchard House Vets as their designated charity for a second year in a row.
Tim Pearson MRCVS, director of Orchard Vets, said: "Nobody should go hungry, or even have to begin to worry about this at any point in the year, but especially not at Christmas, and that includes our four-legged family.
"That is why the West Northumberland Foodbank is so important, and why we chose our donations to go to those that are doing great work in helping those in need at this time of year."
Orchard House Vets, which has practices in Bellingham, Hexham and Stocksfield, started the Christmas competitions in 2020 to help raise spirits during Covid-19.
Mr Pearson added: "It has grown in popularity and after last year's success we really wanted to showcase the Tyne Valley and some of the wonderful businesses that operate from the Valley.
"Our main goal during this annual event is to raise awareness, and funding, for a very important local charity.
"Last year we chose the West Northumberland Foodbank to receive donations from our fundraiser because they do wonderful work and the service they provide is so important for many people, and their pets of course.
"Many people fed back to us that this is a great choice of charity, so we decided to once again raise awareness, funds and donations to West Northumberland Foodbank."
