A popular Tynedale attraction has been mentioned in a guidebook by a Hexham author.
Tynedale’s very own The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi, situated in Allendale, and owned by Neil Cole, has had the honour of being included in a new book about The Roman Wall written by Hexham author David Taylor.
The book, which is called, ‘111 Places Along Hadrian’s Wall That You Should Visit’ is a beautiful handbook, lavishly photographed by David himself and places the museum on the second page.
"I was delighted to be included in the guide," Neil said.
"I hope this will be encourage more people to come and see more of Tynedale and The North Pennines.
"The intention of the book is to highlight key places to visit, but in addition to some of the more obvious choices, also shine a spotlight on some of the more quirky and fascinating nooks and crannies along the length of the famous heritage monument.
"David had previously visited The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi and photographed the now legendary ‘Allendalek’ which appears in the book as the second stop in his journey along the wall.
"Whilst not right beside the Wall, David’s book ventures north and south to help a visitor explore a little further into the region and as a supporter of the museum, he felt we were perfect to be included in his new book.
"And the good news keeps on coming as I have found that The Museum of Classic Sci-Fi has now being marked on several road atlases.”
