READERS reacted to the news that Stephen Castelow, from Hexham, featured on the first episode of the thirteenth season of ITV's production Vera.
The Vera episode, which was filmed in May 2023 in Hexham's marketplace, featured Stephen as a market shopper.
The episode aired on January 7 and was titled Fast Love.
It follows the story of DCI Vera Stanhope attending a hit-and-run on a quiet country lane, before she discovers it was not just an accident and there is more to the story.
Sharyn Castelow said: "As if I'm not proud enough! This boy is amazing. Well done Stephen Castelow! We are all so very proud of you."
Cheryl Carr, Eveline Young and Chris Gerrard all congratulated Stephen on his success.
Anne Neale commented: "Fantastic Stevie well done you, love Vera too," while Catherine Ann Batey commented: "Fantastic photos, well done Stevie, amazing."

Mandy Ferrol said the news was 'lovely' and Gill Kennedy said it was 'brilliant'.
Many other readers also applauded Stephen for his role in the episode.
Stephen, who has a learning disability and autism, is supported by Hexham-based Natural Ability, a disability services and support organisation.
