A PUB has been named one of the Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK for 2024.
The Rat Inn, in Anick, was named one of Estrella Damm's Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK for 2024, which highlights and celebrates talent within the sector.
The Rat Inn announced it had been placed at number 14 on the list at a ceremony in Lancashire on January 22.
Estrella Damm's website said: "Overlooking the stunning Tyne Valley, the Rat Inn based near the historic town of Hexham is one of the greatest and longest-serving pubs on the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list.
"Karen Errington and Phil Mason’s country pub in the village of Anick is a local hub as well as a destination dining venue, offering a seasonal, daily changing menu which is displayed on the pub’s blackboard every morning.
"Truly a stunning pub, filled to the brim with personality, love and character, this is one to visit," it concluded.
The Estrella Damm Gastropub Award is now in its fifteenth year and entries are voted for by key figures involved in the hospitality industry.
