He recently made his first appearance on BBC One's Live at the Apollo, and his work in comedy writing and regular appearances on BBC Radio 4 has marked him as one to watch.
The year 2020, despite its challenges, saw Mr Bennett go viral when his weekly live-streamed stand-up show titled 'Stand up from the Shed' from his own garden gained national coverage, with over 150,000 views due to his unique take on the lockdown experience.
The show also received national coverage in the press, from the likes of BBC News, Sky News and Five Live.
At the close of 2020, Bennett received accolades from his industry peers when he was voted 'Best Act' in the Comedian’s Comedian awards, a distinction previously bestowed upon the likes of Mick Ferry, Zoe Lyons and Ian Stone.
As well as his stand-up work, Mr Bennett's time on the TV and radio comedy writing circuit should not be overlooked.
He has contributed to BBC One's 'First and Last' with Jason Manford, holds writing credits on Comedy Central's 'The Chris Ramsey Show', and has extensive credits with BBC Radio 4, including 'The News Quiz', and 'Citizen of Nowhere' with Daliso Chaponda.
He was also a writer on prime time BBC One Show Little Mix - The Search, which was hosted by Mr Ramsey.
He described Mr Bennett as: "A joy to watch”.
Rob Brydon, for whom Mr Bennett has previously written stand-up, said his show featured "great material, great delivery", before describing him as "a very funny man".
Mr Bennett is set to bring his show to the Old Fire Station in Carlisle on Saturday, May 18, before travelling to Newcastle for a gig at The Stand Comedy Club in Newcastle on Monday, May 20.
