Northern Powergrid has announced it will support this year's National Apprentice Week (NAW).
The electricity network operator will encourage candidates to apply for its Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' programme, Power Engineer Apprenticeship.
On top of its Craft Apprenticeship, it aims to hire more than 70 future engineers this year.
The seventeenth NAW will run from February 5 to 11.
Andy Bilclough, Northern Powergrid's director of field operations, said: "Our recruitment drive complements National Apprenticeship Week by providing ‘Skills for Life’ and empowering people to have a rewarding career in the energy industry.
"We offer first-class development opportunities in electrical engineering, along with a Foundation Degree qualification."
The company will also encourage current colleagues to complete various management apprenticeships, enhancing workforce skills and expertise.
Northern Powergrid will share successful apprenticeship stories on social media, launch new online courses for staff, and engage senior leaders with apprentices.
Victoria Short, head of resourcing said: "This is an exciting time for prospective candidates as we look to expand our workforce and provide fully-funded apprenticeships which deliver real value in terms of experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications."
Applications for the Power Engineer Apprenticeship close on February 25.
