A popular car rally will be returning this weekend to Hexham.
Hexham Motor Club will be running its annual John Robson/ Hexham Historic car rally once again at Hexham Mart, where they will be welcoming 60 classic and modern competing vehicles in the two-day event.
Participants will be put to the test as they go as they go against Tynedale roads. After being 'scrutineered' they will set off for a 150-mile route overnight across Northumberland.
The event will also be raising money for Tynedale Hospice at Home.
Chair of the club, Jonathon Webb said: "The rally has been running for over 70 years and attracts crews from all over the country who enjoy the challenge of a driver and navigator working together as a team.
"As this is a navigational rally, as the navigators will receive their instructions as they travel around the route, so they are never sure where they will be heading next.
"They are due to stop for fuel at Hedgeley Service Station near Powburn from around 11pm on Saturday February 10 before heading back for the second half towards the Auction Mart.
"We expect that the first car is due back to the finish at 02:30 on Sunday Feb 11.
"All residences on the route have been notified of the rally passing their properties and the club thanks people for their co-operation in the running of the event.

"Once again Tynedale Hospice has been chosen to be the event-nominated charity and has raised hundreds of pounds in previous years for the well-deserving organisation.
"It’s great to see so many people once again making the trip to Northumberland to enjoy the event we put on.
"What pleases me most is that out of 60 crews, 10 are beginners showing our sport is growing and the club is growing with popularity too.
"The cars will be arriving for scrutineering at the Auction Mart from around 16:30 and we welcome people to come and have a look around and chat with us to see what the event is about, or just to look at some of the cars!"
