Tyne Valley Film Festival is set to 'unite film enthusiasts across the region' for a two-week-long movie extravaganza.
The fourth annual event, organised by Forum Cinema Hexham, will feature 36 screenings across 26 unique venues in the Tyne Valley between March 15-28.
The line-up will cover a diverse range of films from silent classics to family favourites.
The cinema team have worked closely with partner organisations and film clubs in curating an 'exciting' variety of films.
Forum Cinema is also proud to support the next generation of British filmmakers by showcasing locally-made short films before the festival's main features.
This year, the festival has extended its reach by collaborating with more film clubs and introducing new partner venues.
Among these is Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle.
The festival organisers have also worked closely with the newly established Forum Cinema Champions to curate dedicated events catered to those aged 16-25.
To encourage youth participation, festival tickets will be available for only £3 for all individuals aged 25 and under.
The festival will also introduce a Festival Pass, which grants audience members access to all festival screenings held at The Forum Cinema for just £25.
The Tyne Valley Film Festival, led by Forum Cinema Hexham, is supported by Film Hub North with National Lottery funding on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network.
Highlights of the festival will include the 50th anniversary celebration of Brian De Palma's rock 'n' roll fusion film, Phantom of the Paradise, on Friday, March 15 at 6.30pm.
Other cinematic treats include Wombling Free, based on the popular BBC children's series, on Sunday, March 17 at 1.30pm, and Nature Matters, an environmental documentary through the North East and Yorkshire, on March 24, 2024, at 1.30pm.
The festival also promises an intriguing cultural experience with the screening of Around China with a Movie Camera on Tuesday, March 26 at 7pm, accompanied by a live musical performance by duo, SMLM.
This will provide viewers with a rare glimpse into China's history and culture via an extraordinary collection of travelogues, newsreels, and home movies.
