GLITTER, glamour and glitz – and the greatest genie - Disney's Aladdin was a magical experience from start to finish.

This production, adapted from Disney’s 1992 animated film and ancient folktales such as ‘One Thousand and One Nights’, was a whole new world for me as I haven’t seen Aladdin in any format ever before – I know, I’m guessing I’m in the minority.

I wish I hadn’t left it so long.

Gavin Adams as Aladdin had me rooting for him and some of my favourite scenes were of him and his three mates. Comedy gold.

I wish I could have a night out with them.

A glorious two-hours-plus of breathtaking singing, dancing, comedy and magic. And with Yeukayi Ushe as Genie there was no doubt this production was going to appeal to all. The two young girls sat next to me had as much of a ball as I did. I think they were mesmerised by feisty Princess Jasmine too.

Stunning stage sets transport you into a kingdom a world away – only suitably described as bewitching.

Every single member of the cast deserves a mention – so as that’s not possible, I recommend you take a trip to the beautiful Sunderland Empire and check out this flawless show.

I wish I could see it all over again.

Now, if I was Aladdin, what would my three wishes be? I’m sure I would be extremely careful and not foolishly waste them – oh!
