A MOUNTAIN rescue team has wished a walker a speedy recovery after they sustained a leg injury while walking along Hadrian's Wall.
The services were alerted to the incident on Monday, March 11 and teamed up with the North East Ambulance service to bring the casualty to safety.
A rescue spokesperson said: "On Monday afternoon, ourselves and Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team were called out by the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust for an injured walker along Hadrian’s Wall.
"Local team members first on scene assessed the casualty and their lower leg injury and requested additional resources. Pain relief was administered and the casualty was packaged for the stretcher carry out to the waiting ambulance.
"We wish the walker a very speedy recovery and hope that they’re out enjoying the great outdoors again soon."
