The line-up for the inaugural Northumberland Jazz Festival has been revealed.
Among the performers gracing the stage are Paul Edis, and Bryony Jarman-Pinto.
This musical feast, presented by Queen’s Hall Arts, kicks off in Hexham on Saturday, May 25.
Paul Edis, who had a successful Christmas 2023 performance, will make a triumphant return to the Queen’s Hall main stage with special guests Alan Barnes and Bruce Adams.
This collaboration is sure to excite Jazz enthusiasts, given the latter are widely recognised as a remarkable pair in the UK Jazz scene.
In another event of the festival, London-born, Lancaster-based singer, songwriter and musician Bryony Jarman-Pinto is set to deliver 'enchanting vocals and mesmerising jazz-infused melodies' at Hexham Library on Sunday, May 26.
Highly acclaimed British jazz singer Alice Grace, supported by the Tyne Valley Youth Big Band, will take over the Hexham Bandstand Session on the same day.
As a welcoming space, all are encouraged to enjoy this free session.
Wrapping up the weekend is the Clark Tracey Quintet performance on the Queen’s Hall main stage on Sunday evening.
Clark Tracey, a distinguished jazz master and a five-time winner of the "Best Drummer" title in the British Jazz Awards, will present his new quintet featuring some of the most brilliant young musicians with Emily Masser on vocals, Graham Harvey and BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year Finalists Alex Clarke on saxophone and James Owston on bass.
Joe Steels, Northumberland Jazz Festival programmer, said: "It's been a privilege to programme this year’s festival, working with a brilliant group of people from Queen’s Hall and beyond.
"The line-up brings together some of the finest local players with incredible musicians across the country."
Echoing the same sentiment, Katy Taylor, Queen’s Hall’s artistic director & chief executive, said: "We’re delighted to be announcing such an exciting line-up for the first Northumberland Jazz Festival.
"It’s great to be able to offer a full weekend of performances from such incredible and varied musicians."
