The Allendale Mayfair, with a fun sci-fi twist, returns this year over the first May weekend, promising an array of family delights.
From Friday, May 3, through till Sunday, May 5, the community can indulge in an extravaganza of entertainment that includes music, fancy dress, trade stalls, workshops, and much more.
The event kicks off on the evening of May 3 with Allendale Youth Ambition taking control of the stage for children to showcase their talents in singing and dancing.
This spectacle will be held after a children's tea party scheduled to start at 4pm.
Saturday's schedule is jam-packed, teeming with fun events that are sure to entertain.
An inflatable Lazer Quest, a tug-of-war competition, a Strongman and Strongwoman competition, and dance performances are just a few of the attractions for the day.
There will also be a face painter and space themed fancy dress.
Visitors can also embark on short guided tours of the local church and explore its surroundings.
As the day comes to a close, you can enjoy a 5pm Ceilidh in the square, followed by Jason Arnup and ending with a Space-rave.
The Allendale Mini-Challenge returns on Sunday morning after its successful return last year following a seven-year hiatus.
Supported by the North Of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team, the challenging nine-mile route anticipates the highest number of entrants yet.
The walk begins in two waves at 9am and 10am, with participants receiving certificates and medals at the finish line after the difficult traverse over track and moorland.
On the same afternoon, Sunday Sessions brings in several music acts, including Jodie Fitzgibbon, Liberty Belle, Stratosphonic and The Cash Cows from 12.30pm.
Younger members of the community are set to take part in the kids' parade debut.
There will also be the famous wheelbarrow race from 3pm to 4pm, with fancy-dressed teams negotiating a course around the square, contending for the weekend's most sought-after title.
The fair presents a variety of food stalls, raffle prizes, exciting rides, and even introduces the Twister for the first time this year.
We urge everyone to attend this amazing event; it most definitely has something for all.
Registrations for the Strongman/Strongwoman event, Wheelbarrow race and Mini-Challenge are open on Eventbrite under Allendale Mayfair.
