A WOMAN is swapping her work shoes to dancing shoes for a charity danceathon.
Wendy Neal is hoping to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and the Great North Air Ambulance on April 21, where she will dance from 9am to 5pm at the Prudhoe United Services Club.
Wendy decided to do the event to celebrate her retirement and in memory of her husband.
She is also hoping for some company and urges those free to join in.
Wendy said: "I chose the two charities in memory of my husband Peter, who died tragically whilst out running on June 17 2021.
"Every hour is going to be themed and I would love people to come along and join me, even if it is just for a few dances and donate to dance.
"There will also be a raffle and there are some fantastic prizes, donated by some the wonderful local businesses in Prudhoe, and the prize list keeps growing.
"Starting at 9am, it will be musicals and Eurovision, then 10am Peter's favourites, 11am is rock classics, then Motown and classic disco at 12pm.
"Then, in the afternoon it will be 80s, kids/party disco classics, modern disco classics and will finish with Wendy's mega mix.
"If you come before 11am you will need to ring the doorbell to get in.
"I hope as many people as possible will be able to come along, I am sure it will be a very fun day."
