The opening of a show apartment at The Wool House on Gilesgate went down well.
Individuals, who had alreayd reserved a property, were given priority viewings just before Easter by the selling agent, Youngs RPS.
Eight viewings took place, with many more already scheduled following on from three reservations made during Easter week.
Although the development has experienced delays due to a high demand for insulating materials after the Grenfell Tower fire, there's still considerable interest from locals who have observed The Wool House's progress with great interest.
Development director, Bob Skelly, was delighted by the positive feedback from visitors.
He said: "Following the delays, there could be some pent-up demand from local people.
"Our interior design consultancy, Dakota, perfectly captured the branding of the The Wool House with their fabulous interior designs based on the building's heritage as a former wool warehouse.
"Their designs featured natural shades and textures which have been well received by all who have visited the show apartment.
"This positive feedback makes the challenges we have faced well worth it."
William Thornton, head of residential agency at YoungsRPS, who handled the viewings, described the reactions, saying: "It was very positive with everyone mentioning the standard of finish and the size of rooms.
"Viewings have to adhere to a strict timetable and personal protective equipment will be provided by The Wool House to guarantee visitors' safety."
The viewings are strictly timed due to the site being under construction and are made available on either Thursday or Friday afternoons from 3.00pm to 5.00pm.
The luxury development offers 45 one and two-bedroom apartments, duplexes and penthouse apartments over six floors and includes on-site parking.
It proves ideal for buyers looking to downsize or for those travelling or living abroad in need of a secure home easy to maintain.
Key to the design of each apartment are well-planned German-manufactured kitchens by Beckerman and stylish Porcelanosa bathrooms and tiling.
There are now 11 apartments reserved with prices starting at £175k for a one-bedroom apartment and £265k for two-bedroom apartment.
