Allendale Butchers and Farm Shop
A top recommendation from readers was Allendale Butchers.
Hazel Wain said: "Allendale Butchers is amazing. Well-sourced, local meat. Chris will cut you any size of any joint if it's not on the counter. Not forgetting Sarah and freshly cooked pasties and pies. Plus, there's always a selection of fresh vegetables and flowers/plants. Brilliant."

Robson & Sons, Hexham
A favourite among readers, including Deborah Sim, Alan Phillipson, David Scott and Catherine Grant, was Robson & Sons.
Located on Meal Market in the town centre, the business has been around for over 100 years after first opening back in 1894.
Christine Murphy said the butcher's is "superb" and David Scott said: "Wonderful! Great service and outstanding meat."
Joao Manuel Pinto Correia voted for Robson & Sons in Hexham. He said the business has "great service and produce".
Bellingham Craft Butcher Ltd
This popular business was strongly recommended by many including Kate Riddle, Gina L Moreland, Michael Hudson and Shelley Marie Murray-Hill.
Maria Richardson said: "Amazing staff, always helpful and excellent quality."
Haltwhistle Butchers

North Acomb Farm Shop
Dougie Moffat and Tracy Linkleter recommended North Acomb Farm Shop.

Another recommended by Claire Dobson, Billy Bells is one of the oldest family-run businesses in Haltwhistle.
