Riding Mill Choral Society (RMCS) is set to entertain audiences with a spring concert featuring a variety of show-stopping tunes.
The concert is scheduled for Sunday, April 21 at 3pm in the Parish Hall on Milfield Road, Riding Mill.
Doors will open at 2.30pm and tickets cost £12, inclusive of interval refreshments.
Chair of RMCS, Sharon Thompson, said: "We are incredibly lucky to be led by our new musical director Louise Khazaee who conducted us in a fabulous performance of Mozart Requiem last Christmas and is bringing together this year’s concert of music from the shows."
This year's spring concert will be a mix of music from popular shows like Les Miserables, My Fair Lady, Oliver, Sound of Music, Porgy and Bess and Guys and Dolls.
Ms Thompson said: "As a choir we have really enjoyed getting to grips with these pieces, some of them quite tricky to learn with their harmonies and timings.
"Always helped by our brilliant and long-standing accompanist Robert Laws, who faithfully taps out the notes to support those of us who don’t read music.
"The concert on April 21 is going to be a really fun, show-stopping afternoon!"
The choir convenes on Monday evenings from 7.30pm-9.30pm in the Parish Hall between September and April.
New members of any skill level are always welcomed, with no auditions or previous experience required, and a trial period of three sessions on offer.
