TWO Tynedale businesses have made it to the finals of a prestigous beauty competition.
Sophistikaty's in Prudhoe and Nobles Barbering in Corbridge have been named as two of the many finalists of the North East Hair and Beauty Awards 204.
The awards celebrate the region's growing hair, beauty and aesthetics industry, by giving recognition to individuals and salons.
This years event will be held on Saturday, September 7 but the venue is still to be confirmed.
Owner Katy Denton of Sophistikaty's said: "We are absolutely over the moon to have got through to the final stage for both North East Hair and Beauty awards we were nominated for - Hair and beauty salon of the year - Salon team of the year.
"Without each vote and the continued support and loyalty of our clients, friends and family none of this would be possible.
"The talent, skill, determination and hard work of each nominee and finalist is just unbelievable! We are ecstatic to be part of it for a second year running and so looking forward to the black tie awards night.
"We want to wish all finalists the very best of luck.
"We would like to thank everyone involved for voting, from the bottom of our hearts, it means the world to us!"
Former electrician and owner of Nobles Barbering Alex Noble, from Wark, has also been nominated and is thrilled as this is his first award since changing his trade and graduating from college.
He said: "Obviously I’m over the moon being a finalist, I wasn’t expecting it with the amount of quality in barbering now.
"I would like to thank all my clients who have followed me when I’ve moved to my new place and all my new clients who have sat in the chair.
"So it’s down to the last 5 up for barber of the year award, so we have to wait until the awards ceremony in September where the judges decide who takes first place.
