Within half an hour of going on sale, tickets for the imminent charity fundraiser BiteBack were seized by eager food enthusiasts.
A total of 6,000 tokens were scooped up on Tuesday, April 16.
The immersive culinary experiences at the Palace of Arts, Newcastle's Wylam Brewery, will feature a menu crafted by 15 chefs from leading UK restaurants.
With an impressive collective, the chefs share 16 Michelin stars and three Michelin Green stars amongst them.
The event is scheduled for June 9, 2024.
Each of the chefs will offer an exclusive dish, giving guests a glimpse into individual influences and inspirations.
The event is open to the public, but the pile of pre-sold tokens indicates that only a limited number will be available for purchase on the day.
With each chef only preparing 500 portions of their signature dishes, a rapid sell-out is anticipated.
Chefs in attendance will include, Upstairs by Tom Shepherd, Lichfield’s, chef-owner Tom Shepherd, SY23, Aberystwyth’s head chef Nathan Davies, House of Tides & Solstice, Newcastle’s chef-owner Kenny Atkinson, and many more.
The flagship event, serving up a dinner and drinks from Wylam brewery, will keep guests entertained with music from a range of DJs.
Celebrities will host a silent auction featuring fascinating foodie experiences for the bidders.
In addition to culinary delights and entertainment, BiteBack's festival will contribute all proceeds to Cancer Research UK.
The funds will aid more than 4,000 researchers, clinicians, and nurses in their endeavour to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer, thereby, offering hope to millions now and in the future.
Siân Byerley, co-owner of Pine said: "We want to thank everyone who has been involved so far and it’s totally amazing what’s been achieved so far.
"We couldn’t even dream of doing this event without everyone’s generosity."
She also said: "Our big idea was pretty simple really, entirely focussed on what we do best - bring everyone together through food – and by doing that hopefully making a difference along the way.
"We all know someone who has been impacted by this illness so get yourself along to come and join us and buy lots of tokens on the day!’’
