Hexham's Hidden Gardens event, a fundraising tour of 11 private gardens, is set to take place next month.

Organised by the Hexham Community Partnership (HCP), this annual event, taking place on June 9, sees visitors embark on a self-guided exploration of Hexham’s beautiful private green spaces.

Janie French, communications and marketing manager at HCP, said: "Hexham Hidden Gardens is our version of Open Gardens.

"It's simply a lovely way to spend a summer afternoon and every penny raised goes back into our community.

"We like to offer something fresh, so six stops out of the eleven on the trail are new for this year.

"There will be refreshments and plant sales at stops along the route, and most importantly, the chance to enjoy beautiful gardens that you may not even know exist."

The organisers are encouraging people to either walk or cycle through the trail.

However, guidance including access details and parking information will be provided.

Tickets for the event are available for £7, with those under 18 granted access free of charge.

The tickets can be purchased online at https://buytickets.at/hcp/1252790
