Retailer Barbour will be offering a Re-Waxing Service at the Northumberland County Show with all the proceeds going to charity.

Set to be held on May 25 and located on stands N12 and N13, clothing giant Barbour, in partnership with The Royal Countryside Fund (RCF), will be at attendance at the Northumberland County Show in Bywell, near Stocksfield.

Visitors to the show are invited to bring their Barbour wax jackets to be re-waxed by the two expert re-waxers from the South Shields team.

They suggest a minimum donation of £35 with all proceeds going towards the RCF.

It is expected that the two South Shields team members will be able to re-wax at least 40 jackets throughout the course of the day.

Visitors are welcome to leave their jackets with the team and later return for pick up.

Any visitor with queries about their jackets, or in need of a repair or alteration, can seek expert advice.

Jackets in need of services that reach beyond the capabilities of the stand teams will be sent back to South Shields for additional specialized care.

Senior global corporate communications manager from Barbour, Sue Newton said: "We are delighted to be partnering with The Royal Countryside Fund, a charity we have supported for over 10 years.

"As well as encouraging customers to extend the life of their jackets through re-waxing, all of the proceeds from jackets re-waxed during the day will go to the RCF to contribute to their invaluable work supporting family farms and rural communities across the UK to ensure their long-term future."

Keith Halstead, executive director of The Royal Countryside Fund, added: "We are delighted to partner with Barbour for this innovative re-waxing initiative at the Northumberland County Show.

"This collaboration celebrates over a decade of partnership while actively contributing to our work in supporting rural communities."

With a history of re-waxing and repairing wax jackets for over a century, Barbour continues to advocate for product longevity as an effective means of reducing environmental impact.

The company manages roughly 73,000 jacket re-waxing and repairs each year from all around the globe.
