A charity founder who lives in Malta will walk the entire length of Hadrian's Wall in four days for renal research.
Personal trainer and gym owner, Alan Curry, 64, is from Haydon Bridge and moved to Malta 23 years ago when he married his Maltese wife, Carmen.
He will begin the Hadrian's Wall challenge, joined by approximately 15 Maltese colleagues and clients, on May 25 and finish on May 28.
While living in the UK, Carmen suffered renal problems and underwent treatment at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. When the pair moved to Malta, Alan established the charity LifeCycle (Malta) Foundation to fundraise for renal research.
Alan organises and completes extensive LifeCycle challenges, including cycling from Argentina to Chile and from Vietnam to Laos and Cambodia.
He set up a secondary charity, LifeWalk, in 2020 after Covid, as travel was restricted for cyclists.
All funds go towards renal research.
