The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) is encouraging citizens to nominate themselves for its Council of Governors.

Candidates must be Foundation Trust members over 16 years old, residing within the constituency they wish to represent, and fulfil the criteria presented in the nomination pack.

Nominations should be submitted by 5pm on Monday, June 17, with voting to commence in July.

Governors are elected across Teesside, Durham, South of Tyne, and North of Tyne.

Peter Strachan, NEAS chairman, said: "Whilst not involved in the day-to-day running of our service, our governors play a vital role in reviewing the performance of our Board and the contribution our service makes to the wider health and care system, providing an essential link to the communities we serve.

“Only Foundation Trust members and eligible to stand for election so if you’re not yet a member and are interested in the role, please do get in touch.”
