Vera star and award-winning actress, Brenda Blethyn, is set to open the annual summer fete at a Northumberland care home.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 15 from 2pm to 4pm, the event at Corbridge-based Charlotte Straker House promises a "fun-filled day for the whole community," the organisation say.
The day's itinerary is filled with activities for all ages, from stalls offering traditional side show games, tombola, crafts, and a cake stall, to activities for children such as a bouncy castle and toy stall.
Visitors can participate in a raffle with fantastic prizes up for grabs, including signed memorabilia from the hit series Vera.
Live music has also been promised.
Berenice Groves, chair of the board of trustees at the home, said: "We are incredibly honoured to have Brenda Blethyn join us for our Summer Fete.
"Brenda has visited us before and made such a hit with our residents that we’re over the moon that she’s agreed to come along to open our Fete.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness for the important work we do at Charlotte Straker House while celebrating with the community."
Proceeds from the event directly assist residents of Charlotte Straker House, specifically the free Community Respite Bed service.
Operational since 1918, the amenity provides short-term, free-of-charge respite care for those over 65 years of age from the local community.
