Northumberland motorists will have road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 8pm May 20 to 6am June 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound. Stannington to Clifton, Lane closure for safety fence maintenance.

• A69, from 7pm May 28 to 6am June 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 eastbound, Haydon Bridge to Hexham - traffic signals to carry out safety barrier works.

• A1, from 9pm May 20 to 5am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Detchant to Scremerston, traffic signals (mobile) for maintenance works.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A1, from 8pm June 3 to 6am June 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Fenhill to West Mains, Convoy working for drainage works.

• A69, from 9am to 4pm on June 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 both directions Hassock Bog to Hopside - Lane closures to carry out Detailed inspection and Routine maintenance activities.

• A69, from 9am to 4pm on June 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 both directions A69 Nafferton to Hopside, slow lane closures to carry out Routine maintenance.

• A1, from 8pm June 8 to 5am June 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, Clifton to St Leonards lane closure for sign installation works.

• A1, from 8pm June 9 to 6am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Seaton burn to Blagdon, Lane closures for structural works.

• A1, from 8am June 10 to 6pm July 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Berwick upon Tweed, 24hr diversion route for local authority works off network.

• A1, from 8am June 10 to 4pm June 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Berwick Bypass to East Ord, diversion route for works off network.

• A1, from 9am June 10 to 3.30pm June 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Brownie side duals to Belford, mobile stop and go boards with Lane closure for horticultural works.

• A1, from 7pm June 10 to 6am June 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Warenford, traffic signals (mobile) for maintenance works.

• A69, from 9am to 4pm on June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 both directions between Aydon Road overbridge and Stagshaw, Corbridge - Slow lane closures to carry out tree clearance work for SU.

• A1, from 7pm June 11 to 6am June 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Adderstone, traffic signals for maintenance works.

• A1, from 8pm June 11 to 6am June 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Highfields to Scottish Border, lane closures for horticultural works.

• A1, from 8pm June 15 to 5am June 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, Causey Park to Earsdon Moor traffic signals for sign installation works.

• A1, from 8pm June 17 to 6am June 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, Newton on the Moor to West Cawledge, Lane closure for inspection/survey works.
