Nature enthusiasts are in for an exciting weekend at the Big Wild Saturday.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust will host the event, which is set to take place at Northumberlandia on Saturday, June 15.

The event is part of the trust's nationwide annual 30 Days Wild UK nature challenge, which takes place each June.

Activities lined up for the event include outdoor yoga, a medicinal herb walk, and a mindfulness session known as forest bathing, which is scientifically proven to reduce stress.

The aim is for individuals, families, schools, and businesses to connect with nature through various activities.

Frances Smiles, the trust's education officer, said: "Right across the country, over half a million people are doing something wild every day this June for 30 Days Wild.

"Whether you've taken up the challenge or not, Big Wild Saturday is a fantastic way to get involved, so come and join us."

Ms Smiles added: "Even if you don't want to take part in an activity, why not visit the site, have a walk around and see what's on offer in the café?"

The campaign is supported by players of the People's Postcode Lottery.
